LADY LYNX INK TWO MORE NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS!

Wednesday, March 9, 2005 (TORONTO, ON) - The Toronto Lady Lynx bolstered their roster today, announcing the signing of two more talented local players for the 2005 season. Deana Everrett and Robin Rushton, both members of the National Training Centre Ontario Program and the U19 Canadian National Team. Everrett, a top striker from Oakville has earned 3 caps with the Canadian National Team and scored in her debut on November 4th versus Russia. As a member of the National Champion Dixie Blaze U18, Everrett lead the team in scoring and was named MVP of the prestigious Robbie International Tournament.

Upon signing with the Lady Lynx, Everrett stated, "The W-League will prepare me for my university career because of the amount of training and the level of competition. I am very excited to have the opportunity to train daily with top level players."

Everett was a member of Canada's 2004 FIFA U19 Women's World Championship squad that reached the quarter-finals, appearing in 2 matches. The 18 year-old polished her skills playing youth soccer with Brams United and the Erin Mills Eagles as well as the Iroquois Ridge High School soccer team in Oakville. Everrett will join her fellow Lady Lynx players, Amanda Cicchini and Robin Rushton at the University of West Virginia in the fall.

The Lady Lynx completed the acquisition of the triumvirate of UWV signees announcing that they have also signed Robin Rushton of Toronto. Rushton, who is currently at the Canadian National U20 training camp in Vancouver, was also a member of the very successful Dixie Blaze U18 team. The versatile midfielder/defender got her first taste of W-League action last season with the now defunct, Toronto Inferno, where she started 3 games while playing the full schedule with the Dixie Blaze as the assistant captain.

An excited Rushton express, "This is the highest level of play in North America! The W-League will be a fantastic opportunity to improve my game". Rushton, 18, is a former member of the U17 Canadian National Team and attends Birchmount Park Collegiate in Toronto where she was the Varsity Soccer MVP scoring 25 goals.

"Both players bring different qualities to the table," explained Lady Lynx Head Coach, Brett Mosen. "Deana is a forward who scorers goals, something every coach is looking for, while Robin is a defender who not only brings strength, but hard work and leadership to the team. I am delighted to have them on board and look forward to working with these players." The Lady Lynx kick off the season on Sunday May 15th at Centennial Park Stadium when they take on the Vermont Lady Voltage at 1:00. Ticket info at www.lynxsoccer.com.
