FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2006 LADY LYNX JUNIORS
OPEN TRYOUTS!
Monday, November 7, 2005 (TORONTO, ON) -
The Toronto Lynx Premier Soccer Academy announced today the Open tryout
schedule for their 2006 Lady Lynx Juniors Super Y League teams. The
open sessions will be free of charge for interested female players who are
eligible for the following age groups: U15, U16 and U17 outdoor season in
2006. Session One will be held at the Icelands field turf facility in
Misissauga this coming Sunday, November 13th, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. while
Session Two will take place the following week on Sunday November 20th at
the same location and time. "2005 was our very first year fielding a female
team in the Super Y League (SYL)" commented Academy Director Duncan Wilde,
"There is now tremendous interest throughout the region for Super Y League
participation, which is operated by the US based United Soccer Leagues
(USL), as it places quality youth players in the US College shop window on a
regular basis. Our junior teams compete in the Great Lakes division of the
SYL and our Academy support program is mentored within the structure of a
professional club environment" he added.
The Toronto Lady Lynx COO, Nicole Hartrell is very
excited about the addition of more elite girls youth teams for the 2006
season. "Now that our boys program is well established and improving each
year, there is a need to expand and improve the female side especially
following the incredible success of our Toronto Lady Lynx in the W-League
last year!"
The club has the full support of the Toronto Soccer
Association and expects to get formal approval from the Ontario Soccer
Association in the near future.
