CICCHINI, EVERETT, LINCOLN, MARTINEAU, WARNER AND WILLIAMS RETURN TO FEMALE LAIR

WEDNESDAY APRIL 12, 2006 (TORONTO, ON) The Toronto Lady Lynx completed a busy week of player signings by announcing the return of a host of key players from their successful 2005 squad. Leading the list of returnees are U-20 National Team midfielder and 2005 Fan Favourite award winner Amanda Cicchini, forward Deanna Everett and midfielder Natalie Martineau, all from Oakville; defender/midfielder Holly Lincoln and Jennifer Williams from Scarborough; and 2005 Team MVP, W-League leading goal-scorer and All W-League selection Kim Warner, from Aurora.

In addition, the club announced the signing of a pair of rookie players from the National Training Centre Ontario program: D/MF Vonya Beckles (Scarborough) and D/MF Brittany Harrison (Burlington).

The returning players will provide a solid veteran core and provide inspiration and leadership for the younger players this season as the Lady Lynx build on the success of their inaugural season.  “I’m really happy to have these quality players returning as they are important to our success both on and off the pitch.  The younger girls can certainly learn a tremendous amount from each one of them.” said Lady Lynx Head Coach Danny Stewart, appraising his new signings.

The Lady Lynx open training camp at Centennial Park on May 1, 2006 in advance of the 2006 W-League season, which kicks off in Toronto on May 13 as the  Lady Lynx host the expansion team, the Rochester Rhinos at Centennial Park Stadium.   Tickets can be purchased by calling the Lynx Ticket Hotline at 416-251-4625 x 31.
