THE YEAR
Lynx U20's open
North American Finals with Win

Toronto Lady Lynx rookie forward Adrienne Ruhe Lischke has been
named the 2007 W-League Under 19 Player of the Year by
the United Soccer Leagues. The announcement comes on the heels of a
tremendous rookie season for the 18-year old from Kitchener, who was recently
named 2007 Toronto Lynx Most Valuable Player, along with being named to the
All-Eastern Conference Team.
"It's an honour to
win this award," said Ruhe Lischke. "I'm proud of our season and what our team
did this year. I couldn't have achieved what I did, though, without the help of
all of my teammates." The striker, who led the Lynx with 8 goals during the
regular season, will be heading shortly to the University of Rhode Island to
begin her NCAA collegiate career.
U20's Crush Rage at North American Finals
The Toronto Lynx
Under 20 team opened up the Super-20 League North American Finals this morning
in Epping, New Hampshire with a 3-0
pounding of Rage FC from Reading, Pennsylvania.
Luke Stedmond, Alex Trujillo and Mackenzie Wilde scored for the Lynx in
the win. The Lynx sit atop Group B after one match, with three points in the
round-robin opening round. The winners of each of four divisions will qualify
for the semi-finals on Saturday evening. Toronto takes on the Bakersfield
Brigade tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 PM before closing out the round robin on
Saturday morning at 9:00 AM versus MPS U20 (Mass Premier Soccer). Fans can

The Toronto Lynx
U17 Boys have also qualified for the Super-Y League North American Finals, to be
held in mid-November in Tampa,
Florida as
part of the annual USL Soccerfest. This is the second consecutive season that
the team has qualified, having reached the finals last season while competing at
the U16 level. The team will compete against the very highest ranked Super-Y
clubs from across the continent, in the hopes of claiming a prestigious

The Junior Lynx
will be holding a series of open tryouts in early September at Centennial Park in
Etobicoke in preparation for the fall Academy Program and the 2008 Super-Y
League season. Tryouts will be open to elite-level boys and girls between the
