U17 BOYS OFF TO NORTH AMERICAN FINALS
The Toronto Lynx U17 Boys have qualified for the Super-Y League North American Finals, to be held between November 15 and 20 in Tampa, Florida as part of the annual USL Soccerfest. This is the second consecutive season that the team has qualified, having reached the finals last season while competing at the U16 level. Last year's team held eventual U16 champions to a thrilling 1-1 draw during the tournament and were the only team to earn a point against the perennial powerhouse. The team will compete against the very highest ranked Super-Y clubs from across the continent, in the hopes of claiming the prestigious championship title. The schedule is currently being compiled and regular updates will be posted on www.superyleague.com.
"We have improved vastly since 2006," said Wilde "and have added more firepower in attempt to go all the way this time around. Following the recent success of our U20 Boys, who reached the North American semi-finals, we are all very much looking forward to a return to the playoffs. We are excited for a chance to win our first North American championship."
