Match Summary:
The Toronto Lady Lynx suffered their first loss of the
season, falling 2-0 to the Lady Riders in Long Island.
Toronto, who had played an extended overtime match 24 hours
prior to tonight's match, conceded a goal early on.
Michelle Obrien's strike in the 4th minute gave Long Island
an early lead.
Long Island defended that lead until the 86th minute when
they went up by two.
Claire Oconner's strike 4 minutes from full time ensured
Long island of their victory and handed Toronto their first
loss of the season.
Toronto Lady Lynx Head Coach Brett Mosen highlighted the
importance of last night's match in determining the outcome
of tonight's encounter. He spoke with lynxsoccer.com after
the match.
"Tonight was the result of tired legs. Last night's game
and the trip to Long Island took a lot out of us."
"I'm not disappointed. The girls gave me everything they
had tonight. This loss is nothing to worry about." Mosen
said from Long island.
Tonight's losss still leaves Toronto in first place of the
W-League's Eastern Conference Northern Division.
Toronto returns home for training before hitting the road
for their next game in Ottawa against the Fury on June 29th
at 6:00 PM.
